Hello STIG World!
Got the STIG blues? Have you been Googling until your eyes bleed but still can't figure out why XYZ won't work the way it's supposed to? I know how you feel.
I work with a group of grumpy infrastructure system administrators who know a thing or two because we've broken a thing or two. We don't stress about inspections and scans because we're always ready. Same ol' STIGs, different day. Update the automations, remediate, re-scan, analyze, take another shot, do it all again.
Jell-O shots at the office would be awesome, but I digress...
Anyways, like everyone else, we have to keep our security certifications current. Fewer and fewer of the free training modules apply to the higher tier certifications these days despite the ongoing employment conditions and contractual requirements to stay certified. Some days it's almost enough to make me consider exiting the technical workforce and go into the training biz.
Almost.
Enter the STIGLord blog. It so happens that a portion of our certification requirements can be fulfilled by writing blog posts and publishing technical articles or white papers. Given that we're also answering questions out in other community venues, I figured we might as well get something out of having to type out a wall of text from time to time.
