Hello? Is this thing on?
I was starting to think I would never get to this point! Welcome to my pet project, The STIGLord Blog! If you know what STIGs are, you probably know where I'm eventually going with all of this. Like some of you, I'm hurting for affordable CEPs, so I'm milking one of the options available to us: blogging and technical papers. (There is no way I am cranking out a book.)
A quick note about the Defense Information Systems Agency and STIGs: DISA cranks out the STIGs. They also cause a significant amount of the grey hair and wrinkles I have accumulated over the years. This site is in no way endorsed by DISA.
I'd be mortified if it was. They'll probably slap your enclave with an open CAT I just for reading my posts.
I don't plan on establishing a huge audience, but I hope that you eventually find something here useful (or at least amusing) at some point in the project's life cycle. I have ideas rolling around in the back of my head for a variety of technical and not-quite-so-technical topics that should line up nicely with my certification objectives. I will also mix in some other topics to break up the monotony. I doubt those posts will count for CEPs, but they will provide a good break from the usual cycle of tech post after tech post after...
We'll see what else winds up being published here over time. I also have some friends and co-workers who may join us for the fun. You just never know. If the project survives long enough, you may even see my kids add an article or two, so long as they're not about running Minecraft with SELinux and fapolicyd enabled.
